Member Recipe – Kieran’s Beef Souvlaki

This traditional Greek dish is usually made with lamb, but you must try Kieran’s take on this classic recipe, he makes it with a good cut of rump steak – utterly delicious.





Serves two


  • 2 Rump steaks

For the steak marinade:

  • Olive oil
  • Red wine
  • Juice of two lemons
  • Oregano
  • Rosemary
  • Crushed garlic
  • Paprika
  • Cumin
  • Red pepper



  1. Dice up two rump steaks.
  2. Douse in the special marinade made by mixing together all of the above ingredients.
  3. Pour over the meat and allow to marinate for at least four hours or ideally overnight.
  4. Sprinkle some rock salt whilst grilling or BBQing (another option is to gently sear the steak then oven cook too!)
  5. Serve on flatbreads with some light salad, a drizzle of Tzatziki and homemade chips!
